Susan Shannon99 you sound like jack McCoy on law and order. He always assumes people should do what he knows is according to the law. Does it ever occur to you (or him) that there are a few people out here who don't even know all the law, much less orchestrate every move and choice according to it. I'm not saying that we should make our decisions based on "feeelings". I'm saying an unfamiliar situation can be understood in myriad ways, or MISunderstood in myriad ways. That is why our freedom to be individuals is so important.
Eleanornoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8044318176622758692.post-14785154697808708072012-05-25T14:50:59.756-04:002012-05-25T14:50:59.756-04:00Hi Aaron,

I have to say that I think you brought much of this upon yourself- not in legal terms, of course, but in common sense terms. Why in the world would you offer a counter proposal to someone like this? That implies a perceived sense of guilt on your part. Why even talk to this guy after getting what you wanted from the judge? Really, you had no right to snatch the ipad from him. This was a mistake and speaks to your character as well. You both were acting like children. It is impossible to believe that you thought he had a bomb in it or that he could seriously harm you with it. And if he did strike you in front of all those witnesses, you would be sitting pretty right now because he would be in jail. Getting physical, especially in a courthouse is the height of stupidity.

Now. I support your innocence in all this and am NOT taking this idiot's side in anything. But it is just hard to fully support you based on your behavior throughout all this. Your biggest problem is that you viewed all this through 'lawyer' eyes. You need to rise up above this level & understand that people get it. They really do. You would have had much more support had you stayed above the fray.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
