New Page on This Site: “The Brett Kimberlin Saga (And How You Can Help!)”

Dear reader, I have spent most of my blogging time today working on a new page for this site.  It is designed to tell the whole story of what I half-jokingly call The Brett Kimberlin Saga^®.  I plan to refer to it regularly so that new readers on this site will know exactly where to go to get the background for this story.  I hope it will serve as a resource for myself and others to help people understand this continuing story.  That new page is here.  Or you can see it linked at the text that floats at the top of my page now, or on the list of pages on the right.

Two Ways to Help With My Cause (Bumped)

This post is going to be bumped so it stays on top until at least Monday at noon.

As you might know I am locked in a struggle for free speech.  I have been subject to a court order so absurdly broad that I might be violating it if I tell you about it.  But if you look around this site, and those of my friends, you will probably get the picture.

And frankly this costs money.  There are two funds that are helping me with this fight.  The first is the National Blogger’s Club relief fund.  You can donate here, and I hope to put their PayPal button on my site soon. Update: Done!

The second is the Bloggers Defense Team, which you can learn more about and donate to, here.  And you can see I have created a PayPal button for this fund already.

And I don’t think I am saying too much to say that neither fund is devoted solely to helping me out.  There are other victims of the phenomenon I am fighting against, and they are getting help through these funds, too.

So look around, at this site and others, and figure out for yourself whether or not I have a just cause.  I trust you to think for yourself on this.  And if you think I do have righteousness on my side, please donate if you can.  And I thank everyone out there for what they have done, whether it is donations, or spreading the word and speaking when I cannot, or just offering moral support.  I appreciate all of it.

Oh and one other thing.  Remember how about a month and a half ago I started saying something big was coming and maybe you doubted I could deliver... and then I did?

Yeah, something big is coming, again.  Maybe on Monday if things work out, but definitely on Tuesday.  Not as big a BLOCKBUSTER as the last big thing, but big.

Update: Gee, it would help if I told you which time zone I was talking about!  Thus the title of the post has been amended appropriately.  Thanks to the awesomely nicknamed "Crewman #6" who highlighted this concern.  He is truly plucky comic relief and not a red-shirted ensign.

Okay I have told you a big story was coming.  I told you that it was very likely to be a blockbuster, with original reporting involved.  I told you that I was going to reveal to the world for the first time that a crime was committed against me.  I told you that I had absolute documentary and video proof of my claims that I would share with you. In other words, you wouldn’t have to trust my word; you would only have to trust your eyes.

And you have seen me put off publication day after day on it.  I told you that I was waiting for a friend of mine who was a videographer to finish a video for me that would help tell my story, and that was all I was waiting on.

Well, I’m not waiting any more.  It seems like Murphy’s Law is interfering with the process, big time, on his end.  I have seen a partially-finished product and it looks great.  I believe and hope he will finish it, and if he does, I will happily put it on my blog in a separate post.

But I am not going to wait for the video any longer.  Instead, I will use a video I created myself.  And when it comes to video editing...  I am a pretty good lawyer.  Still, while the video I created will not win any academy awards, I believe it will be effective in the role it is designed to serve.  And I think it is pretty good work (for a lawyer).

So it is as of now scheduled in Blogger for tomorrow.  That means I could be hit by lightning—or killed by a terrorist’s bomb—and it will still go out.  (That bit about being killed by a terrorist’s bomb might sound dramatic to you, but after you are done reading my piece and watching the videos, it won’t seem so far-fetched.)  I suppose if there was an EMP blast on the East coast or something, that might stop it but how likely is that?  What I am saying is, that as much as any person can promise that a thing like this will happen, I am promising it: 6:55 a.m. tomorrow.

And even if Blogger got hacked, at most it would only delay it.  I have taken steps to make sure that if it doesn’t appear at my site, it will appear somewhere else.  There is no stopping this signal, Mal.

It’s going to be two posts, one being a short, summary post that other sites can link to easily, and then the longer post that tells you the whole story.

Site Announcement: Tomorrow (Hopefully)

Consider this an update to my last update.  In it, I told you that a post was coming discussing that a crime was committed against me.  I told you that it was likely to be a blockbuster.  I told you that I had documentary and video evidence of this crime.  And I told you that I needed two videos to tell this story and one was being created by a friend who is a videographer.

Well, he has asked for one more day in part because the rest of his life intruded and since he is doing a favor for me, for free, how can I refuse?  So the cautiously optimistic schedule is for tomorrow, with the understanding that things can come up again.  Indeed Murphy’s Law says something on the subject...

I am truly sorry for anyone feeling "tortured" by these delays.  If it makes you feel any better, it's killing me not to tell it, either.

Site Announcement (Update: Warding off Murphy's Law)

Update: I just want to stress that the the "6:55 a.m." part below is my goal, but it is not a promise.  And Murphy's Law says that if I promise anything for certain, it will almost certainly not happen.  And to riff of The Simpsons, in this house, we obey Murphy's Law!


Update II: If you were going to read at exactly 6:55 a.m. this morning, I will warn you that it looks like we are extremely unlikely to make that deadline.  Oh well.  But I am optimistic that it will drop sometime today.

Okay, so I promised last week that the big post was coming today.  For those of you who haven’t paid attention I have been preparing a big post, an almost certain blockbuster in which I expose serious criminal conduct.  A crime has been committed against me—indeed several have been—and I have absolute proof of it.  You won’t have to believe my word.  You will only have to look at the evidence and believe your eyes.

Part of the presentation is going to be in video form, using two videos.  One is ready to go.  The second... is being completed as we speak by a friend of mine who is a videographer.  It is the last piece of the puzzle and I told him I wanted it done right rather than fast.  And I have seen it in progress and it is very good so far.

So...  he says he can get this to me tomorrow morning.  And finalizing the post will take additional time.  There are a lot of files I will have to turn from private to public, for instance, as it comes together.  And there are some original photographs I will want to put into the post, which is always a pain in the behind in Blogger.

I am going to try to put this out by  6:55 a.m. tomorrow, just before RSS feeds refresh (according to friends who know this sort of thing).  But that is just a guess.  I feel pretty confident it will be out sometime tomorrow for sure.  Check this space for updates, or follow me on twitter (@aaronworthing) and I will be announcing it the second it comes out.  And, dear reader, I will be asking you to spread the word.

In fact, to preview just a little more, there are going to be two posts. One is the behemoth post I have been talking about, and the other is a shorter summary of the larger post, that gives you ever major point I hit on.  But, bluntly, as intelligent consumers of information, you shouldn’t just take my very serious accusations on faith.  You should demand the evidence and, dear reader, it is in the big post that you will get all of the evidence.

So hang in a little longer.  One person told me on twitter  they can’t wait for this, and.. neither can I wait to tell you.  But I want everything right, first.

Site Announcement: Christmas is Coming by Monday

Yesterday I told you that we were working on a massive story at this site, that it was all ready to go except that we need two videos and the second one is what we are waiting on.  It’s being edited by a friend of mine and he said it will be done “in the next couple of days.”  He said it was safe to say everything would be ready to go by Monday.  Maybe if we are lucky, sooner.

Hey, he’s doing it for free and he is a busy guy.  So I can be patient.  I admit I am aching to get this off my chest, but I can wait a little longer.

Certainly God of War therapy helps...

That all being said, I have already set it up so that my post will happen whether a certain domestic terrorist wants it to or not.  I won’t give away any details, but as they said in Serenity...

Site Announcement (Update: I am Breitbart)

I have told a number of people to expect something big today.  And those who didn’t know, well now you know.  We are going to do a massive story at this site, exposing serious criminal misconduct.  It is going to be original reporting and it is going to be massive.  I mean it is over sixty single spaced pages in word, and there are at least three hundred pages of documents I have been scanning, redacting out private information and uploading.  If you wonder why I haven’t said much in the last week, there you go.

But we are missing one piece.  I am waiting for one piece to fall into my Tetris puzzle.  There are two videos that are vital to telling the story…  and only one is fully ready to go.  But it is more important to get this out right than fast.

Hopefully that means we will have it all tomorrow but it’s not entirely in my hands.  Stay tuned, and trust me, this will be worth it.

Light Blogging Tonight...

...but something big is coming.  You might even say it is a bit of a bombshell.

And you might even be tempted to break into a Barbra Streisand tune.  Is that an obtuse enough hint for you?

So keep an eye on this space and hopefully I will be able to put something up by the end of the evening tomorrow.  I am confident I put something up by Wednesday, at the very least.

And hopefully it will be interesting enough to justify this schmucking around and atrocious puns.

Rattling the Monkey Cage: A Response to Ron Brynaert

You know, I probably shouldn’t do this.  Bluntly, I strongly suspect that Ron Brynaert is actually a little nuts.  And if anyone out there is a friend of his, see what you can do about getting the guy help.

But he has been going around denouncing me in dubious terms and I feel the need to respond.

Now, for the most part the reaction to my admitting that “Aaron Worthing” was actually a pseudonym has been positive and I have appreciated the support of long-time friends.  Still, if you want to hate me for having told this lie, perhaps calling me a liar, there isn’t much I can do about that, and to some degree I will understand.  In that situation, we aren’t in a factual dispute, just in a dispute over morality.  But I would ask those critics to ask themselves if a person is ever justified in lying and under what circumstances, because I believe there are very few of us who believe that lying is never justified ever.  But that is really a question you have to answer for yourself.

But I can clear up factual misconceptions and distortions, and just plain bad logic.  Which brings me to Brynaert.  I used to be moderately friendly with this guy during Weinergate until he became convinced I was part of some kind of anti-Anthony-Weiner conspiracy or something.  I never could understand what the theory was, given that Weiner confessed to the central allegation—that he was having cybersex with women who was not his wife, and often after he was married.  You know, because you need a conspiracy to explain an event as strange as a man stepping out on his wife.  (Note: sarcasm.)  Somewhere around that time he started coming after me for my twitter avatar pic.  You know, this pic on the side:

He claimed that this was in celebration of the murder of John F. Kennedy.  And I explained at the time that actually what amused me about the picture was the incongruity of the cute kitten doing an evil thing.  I think I have been pretty consistent in my denunciation of using murder to influence policy in a democracy.  And that’s all pretending I disliked Kennedy, and I don’t.  So for a day or so he came after me on twitter over a picture of a kitten with sniper rifle, and then felt so secure in his victory he made the entire thread disappear from my view when he was done.  Believe it or not, all that will be important in a moment, as stupid as that is.

Anyway, at his crappy little blog, he points out that I was anonymous prior to starting the another blog and that I gave a different “excuse” for being anonymous back before I started the blog, so therefore I must necessarily be lying about my reason for being anonymous now.  But in fact there isn’t even a contradiction, there.  This is what I said in revealing that “Aaron Worthing” was a pseudonym:

It all started when I started this [other] blog..., I had planned on releasing my real name when starting this blog as part of my show of solidarity....  But I realized that as a married man, it was not just my life that I would be risking but my wife’s as well.  So I told her what I planned to do and asked for her consent.

And she refused to give it.

(emphasis added.)  So there are two obvious implications from that.  The first is that I felt my indentify should not be revealed without the consent of both myself and my wife.  And the second is that before I started this other blog, I didn’t want to reveal my real name.  And doesn’t that imply that I might’ve a reason for doing so?  Why, yes it does.

So as of January, 2010, I am saying that the reason why I was not giving my name was so that I could speak freely without fear of professional reprisal.  Specifically I said that I was learning disabled, my employers didn’t generally know this, and I feared discrimination if that fact became widely known.  Since Mr. Brynaert has seemed to express some sympathy for gay people, and gay people have been known to be “in the closet” for years, if not their entire life, you would think he would at least understand where I was coming from on that point, even if he disagreed.  I didn’t mention whether my wife consented to this, because it wasn’t relevant; I refused to reveal my name for my own reasons.

Then as suggested in the passage above, I decided that I wanted to reveal my actual name when starting other blog.  So I went and asked my wife for her consent, and she said no, for her own separate reasons.  So the timeline is simple.  First I was refusing to reveal my name; then I decided I was willing to, but my wife was not. You are free to doubt the veracity of those statements, but there is nothing at all inconsistent about it.

And then there are the deliberate, misleading distortions that Brynaert engages in.  None of these quite amount to lying, but you can see for yourself that he is very deliberately giving you a false impression.

Might be Very Light Blogging Today...

You may have seen me complain about this on Twitter, but basically at the house I am on day five of my plumbing system being completely frakked.  Basically there was at least one burst pipe, maybe more, in the line to the sewer.  Which means that I have water, but I can’t let very much of it go down the drain, or it will back up and our sewer water will pour out of the drain in our basement.  Oy.

And this is, believe it or not, the second round of my fun on this kind of thing.  I could tell you stories, but they would be incredibly disgusting stories.  Let's just say sh*t happens and leave it at that.

So this has been disrupting my life all weekend, and it looks like much if not all of today will fall victim to the problem as well.  I’ll try to get something out the door this morning before the plumbers get here, and then we’ll take it from there.  That also means that my plan this weekend to retroactively update a lot of posts at my two blogs to reflect the fact that “Aaron Worthing” was a pseudonym has been put on hold.  But maybe I can get at it later today.

Tweaked the Blog’s Look

Well, as you can see, I changed the look slightly.  It’s still basic, but I liked this theme because it was wider and I liked the colors.  It seemed easy on the eyes.  But by all means sound off if in the comments if you like it, hate it or whatever.  That is especially true if you are having difficulty viewing it for any reason.  I want to hear that, because I definitely don’t want to cause that kind of problem.

As you can see, I also added sharing buttons to the bottom of each post, if you are inclined to use that sort of thing.

So if you have any suggestions on how to improve the site, let me know.  I am thinking it would be cool to add a logo, but then I have to, you know, come up with a logo.

Actually, come to think of it, I do know of one thing I did once for work.  Maybe I can do something similar.  Let me think on that...

Update: And I have created a logo.  Yeah, I guess when it comes to graphic design... I'm a pretty good lawyer.  Still I think that is pretty good when grading on a curve and it does give it some distinction.  And feel free to sound off on what you think about it.

Update (II): Btw, if you are using an iPhone, I can see that Blogger is by default shunting you into a "mobile" version of the site that looks basically alright, but it does lose the logo.  I am still figuring out this stuff, so let me see if I can control that by any method.
